How I use OSMtracker these days:

* when hiking I mostly just take photos, and a random text note here and
there
* I hardly ever use the tag buttons anymore as most of the default
things have already been mapped, and I'm too lazy to manually
reconfigure the thing
* I do use "Upload to OSM" when converting a track to GPX out of habit,
but I never download my own tracks from the OSM site, I use the AcroSync
App to sync the track GPX and photos with my local machine instead, and
then load it directly into JOSM from there

Things that I'd like to have:

* An easier way to customize the user interface (in the app, using an
external application, using a web interface, whatever, just not using
a text editor and a custom file format). If that can be reconfigured on
the fly while recording a track, to be able to react to what you find
to actually be a common missing kind of POI in the area you are
currently tracking at: the better

* An option to select a tag position on a slippy map instead of just
relying on GPX. Especially in forests GPX is often not very precise and
it is next to impossible to get a somewhat exact position of some
feature later, esp. when its spacial relationship with other already
mapped features nearby is important

* When having taken a photo: not just having an OK button, but buttons
to give a rough info where relative to you the object in the picture
was located: ahead of you along the way, to the left, the right, or
behind you? For those of us that do not have a reliable compass in their
phones

Also lately I found that there seem to be problems with the image export
somehow, with photos only showing up as unreadable / broken after export.
