I really wonder if any experience is gained from these regular surveys.
for example they continue to be done on closed platforms, which de
facto irritates some participants or even leads them not to answer,
thus biasing the results (the less open-minded will not be affected
by this criterion, the more strict on the use of open will potentially
be absent)
funny also the "no personal data" but please give country, gender,
how old, education, ...
about "Why do you use OpenStreetMap? (Multiple choice)",
what's "imagery" ? you mean a map ?
about "Why do you participate in OSM?", the first answer ("I belive
in in the goal of OSM for a free wiki world map"shows that the author
is unfamiliar with osm (osm is not a map, it is a database whose one
of the uses is to produce a visual in the form of a plan. as for
the "wiki map", i don't know what it is, an allusion to the comparison
"the wikipedia of the map"?
the confusion of open and free adds another layer with half of
the responses being inaccurate on this subject (e.g. I like to
contribute to my environment... but because it's open... I haven't
contributed to GoogleMap for a very long time when this argument
would apply.
I don't know what conclusion you'll draw, they'll be just as inaccurate
as the questions.
my conclusion: those who want to do a survey would be well advised
to have their questions validated by the community before collecting
answers. the community could easily detect the inaccuracies or even
the nonsense of some questions.
Regards,
Marc
