[OSM-talk] Research survey on bots and automated edits

For the purposes of the survey could you define an automated edit please.
JOSM for example makes suggestions in the validator. One might be area=yes
is unnecessary on a building=yes.
Would accepting JOSM's suggestion to fix the error meet your definition?
Does any import of open data meet your definition?
Sometimes knowing the subject matter and having clear definitions before a
survey can assist in the accuracy.
