[OSM-talk] EU privacy rules

What does OpenStreetMap need to do to comply with these?

I run a web site in Canada that has the information that a person who lives
in the EU has written a book and gives the book title.

The EU rules apply no matter where the database is located. Remember OSM
data is held on many devices in many countries. Think of OSMAND for
example using off line data.

My personal view is the core database is fine. If it shows DF43 has mapped
twenty five villages I don't think this breaches any privacy rules.

Where I think there might be a problem is on the tables that show where a
mapper is located but it would be nice to know with a bit more precision.

Thanks John
