1) The last I tried the square function in iD the building had to be almost
perfect already, otherwise it doesn't do anything. My experience in
running mapathons has been that most newbies don't notice that nothing has
happened, so they just leave the non-square building and move on.
2) The JOSM building tool takes fewer clicks.
