The advantage of having a dedicated tag for transliterations are, imo, as follows :
1) be a honey pot for contributors tempted to abuse the name tag
2) get rid of the topic at the ridiculous cost for our database
3) be a very partial, crowdsource, open datasource for transliterations

What are the cons?
