[OSM-talk] JOSM: How to download a specific way or node

I must be missing something obvious - I've tried searching, with no luck.

If I have the numeric ID of a way or node how can I either:

1) download it directly in JOSM

2) Center the slippy map on it, so I can download it and its neighbours ?

Is there a better place to ask about JOSM tricks?
