[Teachosm] on community groups and the future of food

Hi everyone,
The initial information Steven sent out seemed to favor colleges and
universities, which is hard to argue with. I don't have any close
affiliation with academia these days but I am friendly with and a
supporter of 18 Reasons (https://18reasons.org/), a non-profit located
along the 18th Street strip of San Francisco food enterprises (e.g.,
Bi-Rite, Delfina, Tartine). Their director didn't have any immediate
ideas of organizations to partner with to put together a Geography
Awareness Week/Future of Food event although she tentatively offered
support, such as the use of their storefront space.
I have some avenues I can investigate, but I am busy and don't have a
lot of extra energy to put into being a solution searching for
problems. I'm curious if anyone else out there is putting together
activities with food-oriented community groups and has any insights to
share.
Hope this makes sense, thanks.
Eric
