[Tile-serving] [osm2pgsql] Providing OSX binaries/packages (#15)

trying to get 0.84.0 working in 10.7.5. it's failing with "Projection code failed to initialise". googling suggestions this is because one of (proj, geos) is missing, but they're on the system via macports. i added the path to proj to $PATH, but it didn't fix anything. what might i be missing?
