[Tile-serving] Rendering tiles in English only

I have an open streem map server based on SwitchToOsm sites instructions.


After using "render_tile" to create tiles from zoom level 1 to 12, we are noticing two things about tiles which we would like to change:

1. Some tiles have country and city names in their own language. Is it possible to render all the tiles in English only? If yes, what is the mechanism to do that?


2. We are seeing a lot of "square boxes" for location names specially in Asia. I am assuming that it is due to missing fonts. We followed the instructions and got all the TrueType fonts required by the steps. Is there an error in the instruction and do I need to get some additional fonts installed for rendering these tiles?
