@artemp, https://github.com/mapnik/mapnik/commit/2864d9046059831a182c432465a9c04c924b25da looks like the most likely cause of the problem. Because this (or some change) is not completely backwards compatible and was included in a patch release, it's breaking the [Mapnik versioning policy](https://github.com/mapnik/mapnik/issues/3372).

Do you know if this is going to be fixed on the Mapnik side?
