The `define_*_table()` functions are only thin wrappers around the `define_table()` function. It is unlikely that that was the problem. I just tested them again and I can't reproduce your problem with id tracking with them. If you can reproduce your problem in a small test case I will look at it.

Yeah. The manual is incomplete there. I'll fix that.
