I wanted to ask for the unit because the docs don't talk about them. 

Should I make a PR to add this info to the docs? (Something [along the lines of](https://osm2pgsql.org/doc/manual.html#special-tags) "(calculated in the units of the projection, normally Mercator meters)")

This might be a noob question, but just to be sure: This does mean that for mercator/3857 area and length will return a float in meter, right?
