[Tile-serving] [osm2pgsql-dev/osm2pgsql] osm2pgsql --append to existing imported slim database takes ages (Issue #2266)

Good Morning, 

the import now works well and i can do updates 5 minutely. Thats all i need. 

The original issue was renaming the tables after the import. We solved that. 

IMO we can close this issue. 

@joto do you want to further investigate the open COPY or should we just skip it since it works well now?
