Hi,
i've got it runnning with perlmagick instead of libGD, see attachment.
pro:
- the client deletes all temporary files and dirs on windows
- no more "error reading from server" when running in loop mode
contra:
- slower
- bigger png files (but smaller when using optipng)
- still no forking on win
I am not sure, if perlmagick generates bigger pngs than GD, or if it's
pngcrush, which can't compress perlmagicks' pngs the same way. For now
i am using optipng ( http://optipng.sourceforge.net ), it does a
better job than pngcrush, the resulting pngs are smaller...
With the forking on windows, i've the feeling that the culprit is not
activeperl, but the multiple calls of inkscape, i'll have a closer
look...
Regards,
Tino
