It would be extremely interesting to see stats broken down per tile, 
somehow, for browsing but especially for tile uploads.

If a distributed approach is used for anything (t at h uploading first and 
foremost I assume), the division between servers should be guided by how 
load distributes spatially over the globe. Having things extremely 
clustered might be both a bad and a good thing: if we want to divide 
tiles between two servers, it might be odd to do that for half of the UK 
(which I suspect is getting a fair bit of traffic) but on the other hand 
a duplication of a small area requires less resources than if it was for 
half of the globe, and having fully duplicated data makes things much 
easier in the case of servers disappearing/being unreliable.
