Sounds good although it is a mystery to my why MySQL shouldn't,
internally, use exactly that for a REPLACE.
Has anyone got any experience with SQL prepared statements as
provided by the PHP5 "mysqli" module? Would using these be likely to
speed up metadata insertion?
And (sorry if I'm repeating myself) what is the current state of
discussions regarding the reduction of metadata altogehter? How many
"inserts"/"replaces" are we doing for a full tileset upload, and
could this be reduced in a sensible way?
