It would be nice to have a fast turn round on rendering, of course, but 
my feeling is that reliability has been the main problem in recent 
weeks. You are never quite sure when you ask for a tile to be rendered 
whether it has failed or whether it is just taking a while to render / 
be uploaded / whatever.

I'm sure this new server will go a long way to helping, so thank you 
very much for doing all this.

With the renderers though, personally I think the priority with the 
rendering would be to make the system more resilient to failure, and 
maybe to improve the tools that tell you what is going on and where 
something has got to. Maybe things like farming out different zoom 
levels to different servers might speed things up, but it could be 
counter-productive if downloading the data from lots of different places 
then becomes a bottleneck.
