Remember that in some areas, a "curch" is often just a city flat with  
a sign at the door and thus has none of the "landmark"  
characteristics you speak of. I would well imagine inner-city level  
16 becomig very crowded if every "Church of Jesus Christus of the  
Latter-Day Saints Aldburh Branch" is rendered (which in turn might  
keep people from adding the text at all, seeing that they're  
cluttering the map).

Maybe we should add some kind of "visibility" tag to places of  
worship and possibly other things as well which specifies how  
"landmarky" the thing is (from 3 = immediately recognizale from far  
away, dominating a city skyline, down to 0 = only visible when you  
stand in front of it or so) and then make rendering distinction based  
on that.
