I can shed some light on this.

The job stream appears to be producing inconsistent SVG now.

One of the advantages of Batik is that it produces error messages (and crashes - not an advantage) if there are any errors in the SVG file, whereas as Inkscape just quietly throws the errors away.

Ran a job this morning that was working yesterday and got the following when trying to render a level 14 SVG strip from Tile 3763 2458:

Error: Cannot find the referenced element:"#way_reverse_5913381" specified on the element <textPath> - may be a problem of 'id'

When you look at the SVG, way_reverse_5913381 is being referenced, but is no longer being defined.
