I don't know if they are, but potencially they could be. If comeone
mapped a large lake like Müritz in Germany, which probably has a
circumference of about 50 km with one node every 10 m you get 5000
points. There might be other large areas. And you can not break up
areas into shorter ways.
What is actually the reason that not all areas work like coastlines?
