No, the OP spoke of using Batik, and the other stuff could be supported
through builtin mechanisms or Java implementations as well.

Well... even JOSM users (who only need to download ONE SINGLE JAR FILE)
are calling for an installer so you're probably right here even if you
were wrong above ;-)

My take is, along the lines that I've written recently, I'd rather have
*less* t at h users who tend to know a bit and have some debugging
knowledge, than *many* who can do little more than click a button. I
don't think we have the support capability ;-)
