Given that I don't own the server and that there many other services run on it (osmxapi, openaerialmap, planet extractor, plus various other things unknown to me). Plus given that I already brought the server to its knees by consuming all available RAM (and more), I'd be rather hesistant to add any other memory consuming things. Although I have sudo rights, I have never installed anything there (and wouldn't do so without getting crschmidt's explicit permission first).

Having said all this, if you think it makes sense , it might be a good thing to have. I don't know the distribution of tiles being viewed (I could give you an apache log to work that out). Feel free to ask crschmidt (the server owner and admin) what he thinks about it.
