I have just applied that one in a slightly modified version.

Anyway, since I have set my .inkscape/preferences.xml read-only
(chmod u-w ~/.inkscape/preferences.xml) I had no problems with corrupt
files.

PS: I prefer patches to be attached un-(g|b)zipped, especially if they
are that short.  This makes it easier for me to read them directly in
the mail reader.
