I had a look at that patch, and couldn't really wrap my head around
why it would work. I discussed the projection stuff with 80n a while
ago, and iirc he had tried making those calculations more accurate
without seeing any improvements in the output, so I'm not sure that's
the way to go to fix the problem.
It might perhaps be feasible to actually do proper projection in
osmarender by creating a template that does the projection calculation
and then getting x/y from it everywhere we need them. Anybody see any
glaring mistakes with this?
This would probably break tiles at home in interesting ways, given that
it does some workarounds for osmarenders lack of projection, so some
reengineering of the client is probably also needed.
I have plenty other things to do before I'll have time to look at
this, so if anybody wants it fast it's a good time to start looking at
the xslt :)
