Yes and no. It tries to use the regular osm user name first. But as the
django system is more limited on the number of chars it can use for user
names this can sometimes fail (eg with an @ in your username). In those
cases it will use the osm email address and mangle it by replacing
special chars with underscores. This is the easiest way I found and I
would be happy to receive improvements :).
