I've been told that putting --subversion /bin/true on the commandline disables 
the checking. I haven't tried, but this would do fine. I agree that easy methods 
of disabling this check are not wanted.
But it seems that the client does not do a check when I render (in xy mode) but 
does do it when it wants to upload. IMHO the check when uploading is less 
important than the check when rendering.

But I downloaded a new instance of the client in a different directory and let 
that one handle the uploads. Makes it faster too I think (not having to wait for 
the upload to finish)
