[uMap] Help installing umap on my server

Hi all!
i am trying to install umap on my own linux server (gentoo based), but i 
am having a problem.

I installed the django database (usint spatialite, sqlite based), setup 
the virtual env, cloned the repo, followed all the steps in the readme, 
then logged in on the admin interface, added one layer and one user...

Next, what?

I believe i need to open the non-admin URL, but i get a funky error:

"SpatiaLite does not support distance queries on geometry fields with a 
geodetic coordinate system. Distance objects; use a numeric value of 
your distance in degrees instead."

Am i missing some steps?

Then, i guess, i should set it behind an apache proxy....
