Yes, please, an issue to keep track of this would be helpful.
That would be a nice improvement, but I'm not sure how this would be 
done. Maybe like we do the heatmap: by default, it's on data density, 
and optionally one can instead use a column value.
Though, this would at least need a customisable scale to define the 
color steps.
Anyway, that will need a bit of thinking.
