[uMap] Trouble with csv format import

Hi, I am bringing in lat, lon and several properties using csv (exported
from excel). The numeric fields import fine, but when I try and import
alphanumeric fields, they do not display in the pop-up unless I edit the
table in umap, and delete the field name and replace it--no change in
spelling--just delete it and replace it. Can anyone explain that? It is not
a huge problem, but I would like to avoid this as I will be making many of
these maps.

Also, I find I have double entries for every point in the properties
tables. I have no idea when that crept in. I have deleted layers and
replaced them with the same data file--would the propertiess be retained
even if I delete the layer?
