Dear all,
upon editing a umap, in the description text for "Icon symbol" (edit
marker, expand "Shape properties") it reads:
---
Symbol can be either a unicode caracter or an URL. You can use feature
properties as variables: ex.: with
"http://myserver.org/images/{name}.png", the {name} variable will be
replaced by the "name" value of each marker.
---
I did not find a more detailed description as of how to use unicode
characters. I tried it with some versions of U+267F (wheelchair
symbol) but the marker always just displayed the character sequence
that I entered, not a symbol or single unicode character.
For the wheelchair symbol, I found a solution by using the Wikipedia
URL of a public domain picture file, but nevertheless, using unicode
characters might be useful.
I am grateful for hints/guides/descriptions.
Cheers,
Volker
