This didn't appear on the discussion yesterday and given the nature of a wiki, where there is little control of content I can see the need for learnosm. I had a quick through some of the content and it seems much more comprehensive. I'm afraid I'm old schoolish and like books so would it be possible to have these available as ebooks?
I am interested in improving the wiki. Simple things can be done. There is a very good article on roof top drawing which I found once and then it took me ages to find again. I have now added a page 'building mapping' with a forward to the latter. A couple of weeks back there was a newbie question about tagging nodes or the building. The most relevant wiki page was 'one tag, one osm element'. I think I've got that the right way round! But how would a newbie or a senior find it. I only came across it by accident. I therefore think there at good arguments to improve the wiki to also help seniors help newbies.
I was wondering whether a name space or category for newbie would help.
I suspect similar questions appear on the newbie mail base and help. Perhaps these could be analysed. I.e look at the questions asked rather than ask the questions. I'm afraid I don't have the skills.
I guess when it comes to updating some of the current wiki guides all you can do is make the changes and see if they are accepted!
If the meeting is moved forward I won't be able to make it but if people use this mailing list it will be fine.
