Hi
I'm a 23 year old geek living in Bergen, Norway. I've been
contributing to and hacking on OSM for over 2 years now.
Both my father and one of my uncles are blind, which is how I'm aware
of many accessibility issues.
The only OSM accessibility project I've done so far is a hack to
render tactile maps suitable for printing on a viewplus graphical
embosser using Osmarender, see http://bob.cakebox.net/osm/tactilosma/
for some photos of the first prototype results. These were done as a
special order kind of thing for my uncle who wanted a tactile
"visualization" of some mobility training routes.
I hope to eventually find enough spare time to streamline the creation
process for those maps so mobility trainers can easily create maps.
Also going to SOTM, let's discuss more of this stuff over a beer :)
