Hi, I'm Rob, 58, member of the Loadstone-GPS development team, author of
the OSM2LS converter and completely blind. I appreciate the concern for
accessibility and hope these efforts will help the disabled community to
use the digital world in a better way. OSM has had my interest since I
encountered its existance and needless to say I've been trying to find ways
to use this visual data in Loadstone-GPS, a program that functions as an
oriental tool for the blind that runs on a Series60 Symbian platform.
In my opinion there are two issues to deal with: the accessibility of the
OSM data itself and the accesibility features that are added to the map. In
order to use the latest the first has to be guaranteed. XAPI V0.6 seems to
be the way to go and as soon as this service is up and running in a stable
manner I hope to contribute to this list in a more constructive way.
