The osm-editor compiles clean with gcc-4.0 and libqt3-mt-dev
(instead of libqt3-dev, as suggested by Debian packager). I just 
changed this in Makefile:

   QTLIB = -lqt-mt

Don't know if it is possible to have a Makefile which cope with 
both.

The editor is now very fast: refresh on a 2400 points GPX file is 
acceptable on my old 500 MHz Pentium III.
