[OSM-dev] Wiki upgrade - missing feature

Before the recent wiki upgrade any url on a page that pointed to an image
file on an external site would cause that image to be rendered in-line in
the wiki page.

See http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Merchandise for examples.  The
partner's logos used to be displayed down the right hand side.

That feature/setting seems to have been lost in the recent wiki update.  Is
it possible and/or desirable to reinstate it?

On a slightly related note, the wiki allows gif, png, jpg and ogg files to
be uploaded but not .svg files.  Can this be changed?
