[OSM-dev] Alternative tile webserver needed?

Maybe a *stupid* idea, but why don't we split the tile servers on one
layer to different servers. So a London based server serves the UK,
something in Europe does Europe, etc. That way the load and filesize is
reduced and balanced.

With these new proxies the same problems will occur, so it is not a real
solution.
