Is there any possibility in openlayers of getting different tiles from
different servers in the same layer? MS virtual earth does something
like this with it's tiles - there are 4 tile servers, each with 1/4 of
the tiles. The tiles alternate based on the low bit of the tile x and y
coordinates, so that any view with 4 tiles in it will fetch one from
each server. Perhaps we could take the tile numbers as a single string,
and then mod that by the number of servers we have, so if we have 7 servers:
Tile 7/63/41.png
becomes 76341 mod 7 = 6
So we go to:

Ideally T at H clients could distribute the tiles to the right server on
upload, and all the servers could run mapnik locally for the mapnik
layer. Otherwise rendering could be centralised, and something could act
as a distribution server.
