I can think of 2 potential issues:
1) Server CPU. How much resources do the dumps take? If even generating
the stats can paralyze the API for up to an hour daily, how much impact
would that have?

2) Disk space. This could be solved by deleting older daily snapshots
and only keep the newest one around. Older weekly snapshots could
probably be left as is now.

Is there any progress (or interest) on having e.g. full monthly
snapshots and incremental weekly ones? this could probably save us quite
some space.
