It doesn't work out of the box, I had to disable a few things in the  
source, then it worked. I believe if one spends some time on it, the  
changes can be applied to the standard JOSM version so it will work  
with gcj/gij out of the box, but I haven't done so yet because there  
seem to be other, more important things to do.
