[OSM-dev] Looking for Geometry library

I am working on adding support to JOSM to help create Divided ways. I have the basic structure of a plugin created and am now working on the 'tricky' bits. It raises some interesting problems that are stretching my High-school Trig knowledge. 

Does anyone know of a suitable library that does things like creating a line that bisects two other lines, dropping perpendiculars from a point on a line out to a given distance, etc? The only useful thing java.awt.Geom.Line2D has for me is calculating the perpendicular dist from a point to a line.
