Glad you like it. I'd rather leave the UTF8 sanitizer code in there for
a few more weeks/months to make sure we don't get tripped up again
somewhere. 

If I remember correctly the overhead of doing the UTF8sanitize operation
is pretty small in the overall process so removing it would not speed
things up much.
 
I thought about incorporating a fix for that \s problem in the sanitizer
code but for some reason I don't see the error on my machine or tile.
