00:45 < yann2> spaetzzZ is doing a great work
00:46 < SteveC> I don't doubt he's doing great work, I'm asking what that work is?
:-) :
- Got accesss to dev exactly 7 days ago.
- I tweaked the php/apache configuration to cope with bigger uploads.
- I upgraded a bunch of security updates on dev (and other updates)
- I looked into the logging which didn't rotate and had a 2GB apache log file.
- Against my intentions, I fiddled with OJW's t at h and working with him we managed to give t at h some slack. Currently it processes uploads quicker than they can be uploaded and the upload queue is 0.
- Identified & fixed bug where t at h would not import the oldest tilesets first, so some uploads were stuck forever.
- New and improved shiny munin stats for apache health and t at h situation.
- Generated download stats for planet archive types (7z not really used)
- Generated planet.diff. Looking into making available continuously
- Disallow direct root access via ssh (starting with next reboot). (Log in as user and sudo)
- Worried about planet archives disk space which is getting tighter, no solution yet.
Not yet done:
- Move out mySQL db files to a xfs partition on a seperate disk rather than on the root partition which also holds all logs.
- Turn on MySQL logging again and see where to improve things further
- Given OJW's consent and collaboration, move t at h out of his personal directory into it's own location. Probably use tah.openstreetmap address to serve those tiles. Optimize t at h apache server config for that (no .htaccess files etc)
- Create and use a tah user/group on dev which all t at h devs belong to and set proper permissions.
- Generally improve t at h stats reporting in collaboration with OJW.
- Make t at h run as a local php process with user tah, rather than over http://localhost (less overhead and cluttered logs).
- Think about throttling restricting manual t at h rendering requests in favor to some "automatically render old tiles when you got some slack" scheme.
- Sleep
