For my tastes that's a bit too vulnerable to late inserted nodes,
besides if you put pivotal adresses on nodes you can average the others
between nodes. (Just like you now average addresses over the length of a
segment), just with the added feature that you don't have to worry about
inserted nodes, and not too much about deleted ones either.

Of course there are adressing schemes that aren't as simple as just
counting up, but those are difficult on segments, too.
