It's not actually searching that is the problem, it's only making
"static" pages for search engines to crawl that needs to be on the
www.openstreetmap.org domain, and hence probably written in rails. The
searching could continue in PHP or whatever else on another server /
domain / whatever, we just need a way for rails to access the backend in
order to produce the pages.
