I could swear I saw a bit of t at h code the other day that was using the
XAPI. Possibly that was only the lowzoom part then? - Anyway if you
say we don't use the XAPI currently, and if it is really so close
behind as 80n says, then why don't we switch?

Don't know, I'm not involved in osm.de hardware, but I'm sure it could
be arranged.
