Nokia Open C is basically a port of Gnome to S60 3rd edtition phones,
including the N95. The libraries will be included in future phones.

The other thing is that depending on what OpenTrail is going to do, you
might be better off adding features to an existing product, such as
WhereAmI which works on most Symbian based phones (not just Nokia S60).

It already downloads and displays OSM data, connects to GPSs and tracks
your position, records GPX files etc.
