"should" - But they are regularly and often used Software like
Lotus Notes even eliminated ALL headers, does not set any precedence
etc ... The times where people unsubscribed from lists while
on vacation are gone for 15 Years ...

The vacation would go back to the list and when the mailing list software
is not capable of detecting the vacation because of a broken vacation
program (e.g. Lotus Notes) you have a mail loop ..
