Yes I use generate_tile.py , Mapnik 4.0 the version in ubuntu repository 
, I don't understand exactly How i can update using 
svn.openstreetnap.org. Actualy I use two task of mapnik on Pentium 4.0 3 
Ghz with 1 Gbyte of ram

Actualy with 1 task i have 2 tile/s with 2 task 3/4 tile/s .... On what 
kind of hardware do you have 10 tile/s ?
