Yes, your post made me aware how much of the "editor-feel" depends on
the region, in which you are mapping. Here in Rome the yahoo-pictures
are sufficient for mapping (just the two highest zoomlevels are
missing), and as there are already most streets, you are also in JOSM
aware about the scale, but when you go to the countryside, I can
easily imagine JOSM-Users who draw in large scales.
